There’s no shortage of accuracy claims when it comes to drone surveys and 3D models — but hard evidence supporting these claims is often lacking.
To address this, we recently tested the accuracy of our PPK workflow on an active civil construction project. Our goal was to provide an honest assessment amidst real-world variables, including vegetation. We flew the site using AeroPoints with both DJI’s M3E for photogrammetry and the M350 with a Zenmuse L2 sensor for lidar, and even brought in a professional land surveyor (PLS) for independent verification.
Watch this recording as we lift the curtain and walk you through our 2024 drone data accuracy findings. We’ll dig into our testing methods, results, and data analysis for the following:
🎯 DJI’s Mavic 3 Enterprise for photogrammetry
🎯 DJI’s Matrice 350 with the Zenmuse L2 sensor for lidar
🎯 AeroPoints as a base station and ground control points
🎯 Professional Land Survey (PLS) for independent checkpoints
